Construction starts on Australia’s first world-class private jet terminal

Australia’s first curfew-free purpose-built private jet base is set to become a reality with the Little Group investing $100 million to establish the world-class facility.

Melbourne Jet Base will be situated at Melbourne Airport on the site of the former engineering and maintenance facility of Ansett Australia.

The facility will include advanced security features, 24/7 service for greater flexibility and access to a longer runway, making it a very attractive option for the ever-increasing number of private jets in the Asia-Pacific region.

The Andrews government welcomes the opportunities a development of this calibre offers for Victoria – in both attracting tourism and stimulating the economy with the creation of over 300 jobs in the precinct.

Construction has started with the world-class facility expected to be complete in about 18 months’ time. Construction alone will create more than 150 jobs.
